Biography

    Peter's 2009/2010 season began with performing the role of Oscar Hubbard in REGINA with the Utah Opera under Maestro Keith Lockhart, then performed his first Enrico Ashton in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR with Opera Southwest in Albuquerque. In the summer of 2009 he joined the San Francisco Opera for TOSCA as the Scarpia cover. In 2010 Peter will return to Tulsa Opera for one performance of Sancho Panza in Massenet's DON QUICHOTTE, and later in October returns for the role of Germont in LA TRAVIATA.
    In 2008 Mr. Lindskoog made several role debuts as well as more appearances as Scarpia, beginning in 2008 with TOSCA as Baron Scarpia; First with JPAS (New Orleans) and then with Opera Southwest in Albuquerque. His Seattle Opera debut was made in 2008 as the Old Servant and Orestes cover in ELEKTRA.

    In November, 2007 Peter debuted with the Arizona Opera in the role of Colonel Frank in DIE FLEDERMAUS after singing Scarpia in TOSCA with the Tulsa Opera. In May 2007 he made his European Debut as Germont in LA TRAVIATA with the Macedonian National Opera in Skopje. Also in the '06/'07 season he appeared as the Bosun in BILLY BUDD with Nathan Gunn with Pittsburgh Opera in Francesca Zambella's renowned production. Peter made a role debut as RIGOLETTO with Opera Southwest and appeared as the Musik Master in Tulsa Opera's ARIADNE AUF NAXOS. In 2005 Peter made his Los Angeles Opera Debut as Baron Scarpia in TOSCA, as well as Baron Douphol in LA TRAVIATA with Utah Opera. In 2004 he served as cover for Sir Thomas Allen at the San Francisco Opera in the SFO's acclaimed production of THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN, as well as Figaro in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO with the Knoxville Opera and The Music Master in ARIADNE AUF NAXOS with Tulsa Opera.

Peter Lindskoog is rapidly establishing himself as an important American baritone. Opera News has described Peter Lindskoog's voice as "a handsome, fine-grained baritone" and he has repeatedly received commendations for his superb singing, stage presence, interpretation and expressive musicianship. With a career spanning the operatic, concert and musical theater stage, Peter Lindskoog is an American baritone on the threshold of a major career. Regarding Mr. Lindskoog's vocal and dramatic presence, one critic commented,"his singing has never been better; crisp and clear and ringing with authority" (James D. Watts, Tulsa World, and another remarked, "Peter Lindskoog is a the very personification of the Forester" (Janacek's THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN) (Scott Cantrell, Dallas Morning News).

Recent engagements include: Concert appearances with Chapman University where Peter received an Alumni Achievement Award in the Arts, Scarpia in TOSCA with Tulsa Opera, Germont in LA TRAVIATA in Skopje, The Bosun in BILLY BUDD with Pittsburgh Opera, the Title role in RIGOLETTO with Opera Southwest, Baron Douphol in LA TRAVIATA with Utah Opera. Also The MusikLehrer in ARIADNE AUF NAXOS with Tulsa Opera, Scarpia in TOSCA with Los Angeles Opera, Dr. Falke in DIE FLEDERMAUS with Opera Grand Rapids, Germont in LA TRAVIATA with Opera Southwest, Sharpless in MADAMA BUTTERFLY with Tulsa Opera, Forester(cover) in THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN for the San Francisco Opera, The Title role of Figaro in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO in a debut with Knoxville Opera, Marcello in LA BOHEME for both Opera Memphis and Shreveport Operas, General Boum in LA GRANDE DUCHESSE DE GEROLSTEIN with OK Mozart, a debut with Summer Opera Theatre (Washington, D.C.) as Tonio in I PAGLIACCI, and as soloist in CARMINA BURANA with the Central Chinese Orchestra in Beijing.

Mr. Lindskoog has a significant amount of roles to his credit, among them include; Marcello in LA BOHEME (Opera Memphis, Tulsa Opera, Shreveport Opera), Masetto in DON GIOVANNI, Lorenzo in Bellini's I CAPULETI E I MONTECCHI, the Forester in Tulsa Opera's acclaimed production of THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN, Count Almaviva in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (Tulsa Opera) and Alidoro in LA CENERENTOLA (OK Mozart Festival). He has also performed the roles of Sharpless in MADAMA BUTTERFLY, Ford in FALSTAFF, Michele in IL TABARRO, the title role of GIANNI SCHICCHI, Germont in LA TRAVIATA, Dr. Malatesta in DON PASQUALE, Belcore in L'ELISIR D'AMORE Biterolf in TANNHÄUSER, and de Brétigny in MANON.

Extensive symphonic and concert repertoire includes Mendelssohn's Elijah, Brahms EIN DEUTSCHES REQUIEM, Orff's CARMINA BURANA, Handel's MESSIAH, and Beethoven's SYMPHONY No. 9. In addition, he has performed oratorio solo roles such as Haydn's THE CREATION, Mozart REQUIEM, and Verdi REQUIEM.

Future engagements include: The role of Sancho Panza in Massanet's DON QUICHOTTE, Germont in Verdi's LA TRAVIATA with the Tulsa Opera. And in 2011, Peter will appear as Ford in Verdi's FALSTAFF.
